How very kind. Thank you for your comments.

You don't need me to tell you this, but your father is a hero - down to his core. Thank God for him.

And thanks for the blogroll addition. I shall follow suit!

Just for the record... almost all HOA's have a law firm on retainer to handle these things. But Coates and Davenport seriously underestimated the will of 2.3 members of the American Legion, 2 U.S. Senators and the Virginia Governor... to say nothing of the millions of unaffiliated veterans of this country.

Last week I called them to voice my displeasure. This week I wanted to do it just one more time (it made me feel like I was doing something to support the Colonel). Imagine my surprise when I was told that the Law Firm of Coates and Davenport no longer represented the Sussex HOA. I jumped for joy. I doubt that the HOA will be able to find another law firm to represent them. So... it's all over, in my opinion, except for the celebration. Colonel Barfoot, once again you stood tall and protected all of our rights to honor our country. You are a national treasure and we are blessed by men of your caliber.

Thank you sir, for writing about this. This officer and gentleman has earned the right to fly his, and our, flag any time, place, and fashion he might want to. My father, also a veteran of WWII, was captured by the Germans during the Battle of the Bulge. He survived that ordeal, and my earliest childhood memories are of the flag that flew every day from the flagpole in our front yard. Today, at my own homes, wherever they may be, I continue that, as do my thankfully still-living parents.

I included your post today in my Pup's Picks, at my blog. I'm going to add your blog to my blogroll as well.

Thank you again.

dunderheaded weasels – with nothing better to do than summon high-priced lawyers to threaten a 90-year old war hero And not just any old war hero, but a recipient of the bleeping Congressional Medal of Honor! Unbelievable!
